“I do my best proofreading after I hit send.” — Not You

  • First, we talk ...

First, we will communicate via email or video conference to discuss your project and go over anything I need to know and answer any questions we may have for each other. You’ll send me your documents (Word, PDF, any text file), along with a deposit, to my encrypted email to ensure privacy. (Privacy Policy)

  • ... then, I read.

I will read through the material and make comments, suggestions, and/or corrections to potentially improve the readability of the content, making sure your point gets across clearly and accurately.

  • What I Look For

    Grammar, Spelling, Punctuation

Sentence Structure, Logical Flow, Paragraph Structure

    Verb/Tense Agreement, Word Usage, Capitalization/Hyphens

If reviewing anything with formatting, i.e. report or website, I will review for consistency. I’ll check any hyperlinks in your documents, etc.

  • Revisions

I’ll send the changes back to you either in Word (via track changes), or I will annotate a PDF document. You can stop there, or you can make the changes and get one last review before publishing. Most clients get a final review, depending on the nature of the project.
